In the Middle East, a region steeped in coffee culture, improving roasting techniques is crucial for enhancing industry competitiveness. The 120kg coffee roaster we customized for an Egyptian client, with its stable performance and local adaptability, has become a key driver for upgrading local coffee processing, demonstrating the global service capabilities of Chinese coffee equipment.
The Egyptian client, a well-known coffee trader in Cairo, specializes in processing Arabica and imported coffee beans. Their development was previously hampered by insufficient roasting equipment capacity and poor flavor stability. After an on-site inspection, our technical team customized a large-scale roasting line capable of producing 120kg per hour. The core equipment utilizes a hot air circulation roasting system with a temperature control accuracy of ±1°C, precisely matching the low-acidity, high-aroma roasting requirements of Arabica coffee beans. A 30-40 minute ramped temperature increase (from room temperature to 220°C) brings out the nutty and caramel flavors.
The equipment demonstrates strong adaptability to local raw materials and operating conditions. To address Egypt’s hot and dry climate, the unit is equipped with a constant temperature and moisture-maintaining feed system to prevent rapid moisture loss from the coffee beans, which can affect roasting uniformity. The unit supports a bilingual Arabic and English user interface and includes over 200 preset roasting profiles, covering mainstream varieties such as Yemeni Mocha and Ethiopian Yirgacheffe. Workers can operate the unit independently after just one day of training. Furthermore, the equipment’s flue gas purification system meets local environmental standards, with emissions below 50mg/m³.
Since the project’s commissioning, significant results have been achieved: the customer’s daily processing capacity has increased from 800kg to 2.8 tons, a 250% increase in production capacity. Due to the consistent roasted flavor, the wholesale price of coffee beans has increased by 12%, resulting in an annual revenue increase of over US$400,000. The local coffee association has designated the unit a “Model Unit for Industrial Upgrading,” attracting five companies from Alexandria, Port Said, and other locations to visit and explore cooperation opportunities.
From equipment installation to after-sales maintenance, we provide comprehensive support: a remote monitoring system provides real-time assistance in optimizing roasting parameters, and our Cairo spare parts warehouse ensures the replacement of critical components within 48 hours. This project is not only a success of the technical solution, but also confirms the profound understanding of Chinese equipment to the needs of the Middle East market, injecting new momentum into the global application of coffee equipment.
